Price of software

June 1st, 2008 by Daelin

I was thinking about buying Photoshop because I wanted to play a little with it but I have seen its price and I just gave up.

It is amazing how expensive a software can be. I don´t understand why though. Do costumers have to make those companies rich? I am sure Adobe is a great company and Photoshop is almost magic but I don´t get why it cost almost a thousand dollars.

It is a lot of money. You can buy many things, real things, with that kind of money.

And it is not only Photoshop. Nowadays you can find many software with random expensive prices. I say random because I can´t understand how they calculate the price of them.

A CD is very cheap, the software is already done and I am sure the people who have created it is already well paid.

It is a thing that I will never understand and maybe I will never play with Photoshop because of its price. It should be nice if the price were more accessible. They are losing costumers. I would buy it if it weren´t a thousand dollars.

I read similar article also named f software | Tempopassa, and it was completely different. Personally, I agree with you more, because this article makes a little bit more sense for me

You have a nice site here, Daelin.

I am also amazed at such high prices for everything, especially software. But I use Paint Shop Pro, which I got at eBay for $25. It’s an older version, but I don’t need the fancy new stuff. At $25, it is still expensive, but it is much better than the $500 for Photoshop! Also, there is something called GIMP that is for free.

Thanks Mrs. Mecomber. I tried to use Gimp a few times but it is very difficult.
